The three
images shown here were drawn with TurboCAD v9.5 Professional.
Drawing in 3D was still a fairly new undertaking for me at this point so
the images may lack some of the refinement that came later.
It's always good to keep one's early work so that I and others
can see that learning from experience does happen.
Though
lacking in cosmetic appeal, the drawings do have all the necessary dimensional
requirements to actually build what they represent.
The roller
shown here is commonly used in the Mississippi Delta farming region
to flatten the top of and firm up "rowed-up" beds prior to planting
cotton, corn or soybeans. The purpose of the beds is to keep
the young plants above water after heavy rains and also to allow planting
in dry conditions where the top of the row can be knocked off with
a row conditioner exposing the moister soil that lies underneath.
This version is completely generic and not copied from any other
commercially manufactured roller that I know of. This image
imbodies my thoughts on how the tool should be built.
The
race cart frame shown at the bottom is a project that I started but
never finished. One day I will complete it.
